Our Mission
Lifestyle is a powerful predictor of health outcomes. Modifiable lifestyle factors are variables such as nutrition, physical activity and mental/emotional well-being that contribute to the presence or attenuation of chronic disease.
Lifestyle Therapeutics™ became blockbuster medicine
By applying clinical disciplines, Lifestyle Therapeutics™ are blockbuster medicine for individuals at-risk or struggling with chronic diseases such as Type II diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular health and obesity. More than a pill or procedure, this form of therapy unlocks the human potential to create lasting health improvements. Lifestyle Therapeutics™ is a clinically-proven service prescribed by health professionals, reimbursed by health plans and delivered via telehealth/remote patient monitoring modalities.
Our mission is centered around Lifestyle Therapeutics
Converge the art and science of behavior change
At inHealth, we converge the art and science of behavior change by connecting humans to humans to deliver a hyper-personalized, medical-grade program. We empower individuals to transform their lifestyle into medicine.
Our Story
Brick-and-Mortar Clinic Opens
inHealth founders Aubrey Sawyer, Michelle Alencar, and Johnnie Jenkins opened a brick-and-mortar clinic to provide health coach solutions to high-risk, hard-to-treat patients. It was one of the first to be reimbursed by insurance.
inHealth Is Formed
With a remote coaching solution in place and outcomes tested in clinical trials, inHealth was created. As the business evolved, the goal remained the same: provide more touchpoints to fuel lifestyle changes in high-risk, harder-to-reach patients.
Shift to Remote Coaching
Seeing the value in their health coaching services, Sawyer, Jenkins, and Alencar wanted to widen the scope and reach more patients. For ease of convenience, they moved from a brick-and-mortar clinic to online coaching services
A Growing Team
The inHealth team has grown to include more than 30 health coaches across the United States. The diverse background of this team has enabled inHealth to pair patients with coaches who have direct experience with their conditions.
Launch of Clinical Trials
In 2014, Dr. Alencar launched the two first clinical trials around the inHealth services. These clinical trials were followed by subsequent randomized controlled trials that showcased positive outcomes for weight loss and overall wellness.
A Growing Audience
Today, inHealth is backed by providers, health plans and medical device manufacturers as a viable solution for patient engagement and positive outcomes. These trusted partnerships are what make a better future possible for patients.
